The collaboration between ASENTA and LIEBHERR arose from the company’s need to improve its competitiveness by applying advanced management methods. LIEBHERR needed a lasting change done by ourselves, to ensure its sustainability.
The project started in a pilot area to see whether they understood the methodology and were convinced by it. After several changes of the macro and micro layouts, we changed the planning system from push to pull, etc. and when they were sure that this was what they wanted, we started applying the same methodology in other production lines.
At the same time, we started improving their day-to-day activities and we also rolled out the strategy process and deployment of the objectives aligned with that strategy.
What we wanted was to change the culture throughout the company, so we then decided to begin the Lean Office project to include all the support processes, a middle management programme and a skills development programme to motivate everyone on staff.
